Hello everyone. I just picked up 4 of the Kelberi from Wes. They are growing out in a 20L for now since they're about 2.5 inches give or take. I chose Kelberi even though I love the blues of the Azuls since I am limited on tank size.

I have a 6x2 foot 225, a standard 180, and a 72x18 inch 150 gallon. I'm into Crenicichla and I have each of these 3 tanks dedicated to a bonded pair of Crenicichla. I currently have Lenticulata, Tapajos II, and a beautiful large pair of crenicichla cincta.

My 225 is set up as a riparium so the water only goes about 24 inches high with the rest open for emerged plants. I'll add a pic. My question is, would adult cichla jump out more than 6 inches if I made this their final home?

Lastly, of my pike species, which would seem the best combo for them?

Other fish I have are 2 Heros Severus atabapo, 6 Geophagus winemilleri, 2 Bahia red tail oscars, and 1 Hoplarchus Psitticas al scattered among these 3 tanks.

Where should the Kelberi go when they grow out and what fish should I sell off?

Thanks all.

Very nice was tempted by them but decided to get some pikes from Brazil instead :D keep updating us. I've seen a YouTube video where a lent would relentlessly chase a group of peacock bass around but I've seen plenty more where they were completely fine. Good luck with them im thinking of trying them someday in my 300. Just really concerned about max size lol

Thank you. I responded to your PM btw. I'm wondering if I could put the Kelberi in the 225 pictured without fear of them jumping out. I think they'd look great with the Cincta's. I'd move my oscars and hoplarchus to my 150 with my lents. And move my severums to my 180 with my tapajos and my geos. That's of course, they won't jump.

Hmmm is be wary of any of those pikes jumping. After I lost a opsariichthys bidens to leaving my lid off for only a hour I don't mess with that anymore. At my lfs I work at I found a dried up farmy bass on the floor 2-3 weeks ago. I'd say they could jump. I've had some pikes jump as well. Tbh I wouldn't risk those cinctas like that either but to each their own. It looks very nice nonetheless I'm thinking of doing some pothos like that too hopefully my tiger silver dollars won't chew them up. I think bass and any of your pikes would look great but especially if you mixed them with the Cobras the color contrast would look great I think: orange and red vs lime green and gold spangles would be cool

I'm ordering some kels as well from Wes
What are you feeding yours? Tanks look great. Love the oscars.

These Kelberis are loving new life spectrum pellets whereas the Orinos I got from Wes don't really care for them. They definitely prefer the Hikari carnivore pellets.

Thank you. will the cichla be ok in this tank with the pikes or will in be risking them jumping out?
