Alright, so over the past 4 weeks, I've lost 4 fish, all in the same the same tank. So, the only think in common when I found the fish dead was there was a bee in the tank, every time. I've tried to cover it with multiple different things, they seem to keep getting in, now I have a piece of acrylic glued with a spot to open it to feed, water changes, move the fish need be.

All of the fish are healthy, never had a problem until I started getting bees, I don't know where exactly the bees are coming from, it's in doors, windows are closed, and has a sliding glass door. So, it's pretty much got to be inside. I will have to find them.

Now, my question is this a plausible scenario, or just a coincidence?

Edit: Now that I think about it it's been more than that. 2 more, actually, but I got them from the pet store, and at the time I assumed it was from illness, or typical pet store fish.

Perhaps bees carry a bacteria that is toxic to the fish, or 1 of them did and has introduced said bacteria into the tank, but IME I have had June bugs fly into my tank and sometimes my Ctenapoma will actually eat the June bugs, and I have never seen him get sick.

I would test the water, and closely examine your fish for parasites and/or bacteria.

Perhaps a 50 water change will help?

How big is your tank, what is it stocked with?

I was thinking possibly being stung while trying to eat the bee? All the fish in the tank came from the same place (Jeff Rapps), the others were in a separate quarantine tank. All water perimeters are good, 50% change every week. No parasites, or bacteria.

It's a 55 grow out with 6 Lyonsi about 2.5 inches, 2 Red devils about 1.5, and 1 Geophagus Brasiliensis about 2 inches.

I had a rotkeil severum that was stung in the mouth eating a bee. I watched it happen in front of me. The fish did not in any way appreciate it sa it was fairly obvious it was stung however it pulled through just fine. It did eat the bee as well. This was a common honey, bee not a wasp or anything for the record.

Wow, thats wild!
There are free apps called "AtHomeCamera" and "AtHomeVideoStreamer" which allow you to stream from the camera on a phone/tablet/computer. I use them to check in on my tank from work, you may be able to use them as a free resource to see if it is in fact bees when you're not home.

Not sure how effective it would be, but its free so I figured it wouldn't hurt.

That would be interesting, I have everything sealed up now, I'm hoping no more bees get in to see if it happens again

Appreciate the suggestion.

Interesting, can you tell which type of bees they are?

I feed my fish bees, wasps, hornets all the time. Now most of them are dead when they hit the water, but haven't had any problems so far. Good to reality check on some people's experiences where it hasn't gone as well.
