Beetles

Aquired some of these little gems as a potential live food, but have always wanted some anyway and thrilled that some of them have finally come out of their pupa. Their colours are awesome from a greeny turqoise to deep blue to purple depending on how the light hits.

Anyone here keep/kept beetles? Pics?

I wanted jewel beetles...its a work in progress lol. They do have amazing colours!

I tried keeping june beetles. They lived a few months then passed away. I should try raising some scarabs this year once it warms up.

I'm a much bigger fan of ground beetles and other predatory types.

Any bright colourful cetoniid beetles are awesome in my opinion. Would love to give goliathus a go though. This species is Smaragdesthes africana oertzeni.

Thats a stunning beetle, gorgeus irridesence.
