Any tips on the growth spurt?
Or was it naturally occurring?

maybe steroids and growth hormone??? j/k
I'd love to grow my 12" diamond to 16" in just couple years.

Prior to getting this Rhom I spoke to a wise man who keep Rhom and he told me the key to growth was filtration, filtration, filtration. He also told me to feed my Rhom daily and do frequent water changes. I change 35% of the water every week. I feed all my piranhas fresh fish directly from the fish market (never fed frozen). Whatever he does not eat in a few hours I remove from the tank.

that's pretty much most of us are doing, you might just got lucky with a rhom that had some crazy growth spurt at 10" size.
3" in 4 months that's even more growth than when they were babies...we all know pygos have crazy growth when small but that's still about 1" per month on average. and your 10incher grew 3" in just 4 months, I can't think of other word other than crazy, man you are lucky :)
