..anyway that's good bro. u guys going to have a girl or boy?I'd try something like what you would do with a monitor. Give them a big cage and then leave them alone except for feeding, and they will come to you on their own. The process would be analogous to taming a feral cat or dog. Let them associate you with food, not negative experiences like handling. Tong feed them, and reward them for good behavior.Just curious - How tame is your cayman ?
I have 3 juveniles I've been raising for a few months now and they are the meanest little guys. They delight in throwing themselves at me every morning when I feed them their snails and change their water. I've been handling them but they are way more pissed off than anything I've ever kept except for maybe a nile monitor I had a long time ago. I wonder if the fact that there are three together makes them less likely to accept me - sometimes I swear two of them work together to splash me with their dirty water and run out of the cage.
Otherwise they've doubled in size and look really healthy. I've kept a lot of different reptiles in the last twenty years but never this species (could never afford them) and am worried that if they continue to be so actively aggressive they will be dangerous full grown. Their jaws are made to crack snail shells. I'm about to put them in a 4x2 cabinet so maybe with more space they won't lunge me every time I open the cage door.
