This will work if you raise the "T" to the desired tank water level

This has lost both the outer loop, and the uptoob
this is causing the pipe to act as a syphon and is trying
to drain your whole tank

ohwait
I see it
yeah just raise the "T" to the top of the water and you should be good

very nice work but soo you know a 6' x 2' x 2'= 180 gallons haha either way its not bad news.

Sorry mate, but 6x2x2 is 149.5 gallons....UK, but then theres the substrate etc so around 145 gallons.

Arowen

I sorted it, its the pump back siphoning, if thats how you spell it. Just need a one way valve.

I removed the inlet to the tank from the pump when i turned the power off and all was well.

oh well theres a conversion table on here and 6 ft x 2ft x 2ft= 180 gal

Your both right 150 Gallons UK = 180 Gallons US.

im a scepticle about these one way valves for the pump..
i bought one with the intention of using it and decided to test it first
it really slowed the flow rate down
so just check before u install it, if it has a spring u might have to remove it
another solution is to run your outlet tube above water level

Well it has been up and running now for a few days with both pumps going, i had to get another pump, darn ebayers, to much like hard work sometimes that place.

Its is running great, good flow in the tank, a bit murky but i think tghat could be with me messing with filter but i thought it would of cleard more over night, i have added some floss to the canister and the sump as to see if that will clear it up a bit better.

Also its dam noisy, mainley from the water flowing through the overflow pipe work, if anyone can suggest a way to make it a bit quieter i can trun the telly down a bit :)

As for the anti syphon, i have just drilled a 1/4 inch hole above water level on the return pipes, no more floods:):headbang2easyst way are some times the best.
