Before or after?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks :) The more I sit here and look at it (its beside my computer) the more I like the way it is now.

aesthetically I liked the first, but I think that the free swimming room in the second setup is better for the fish.

It's a tough call. I think that the after photo definitely looks more natural. The algae on the driftwood helps that. Also the after has a darker atmosphere as far as lighting which I imagine your severums appreciate. Very tough call, but I think I have to go with the second set-up as the nicer of the two.

I somehow find that it's more natural with the after look. Enhanced by the lighting previously, the driftwood became an obvious statement, alone by itself in the middle, it looked out of place. Now it blends into the aquascape, giving it a more biotope look.

I am gonna say after, because the plants make the root look more realistic. Also, the plants around the root makes a better hideout for the sev at night. Mine don't hide all day, they swim around, but at night they are well hidden.

i like it afterward but i agree the middle is a little to open.......i would put some of those rocks in the middle of the tank..........but that's just me............

after, looks more spacious for swimming and turning, but ofcourse its more important which your fish likes better

They seem to be liking this new setup. The smaller guys love the little area for them in the corner now, where the plants and driftwood is. Sevy seems to be enjoying his more open swim space now, and spends most of his time in it.
