ya all black is a big no no. My tank has black gravel and it works really well do to having no backround and baby blue walls in my room. lots of greenary really helps in my case aswell
That is a big difference.
My mpimbwe are in a black sand tank now but there are a few large holey rocks so its not all dark in there.Was going to do a black background but after seeing a few threads like this Im hesitant to use that

yeah i only have that black moon sand on my platy tanks becuase they are bright orange and yellow but i recently moved my flower horn baby out of his tank which also had that sand becuase he turned black as well. hes much better now in blue gravel . it looks sooooo much better! lots of blue now
