Hello all,

I've never done salt water before, but I have years of experience in fresh. I found a pretty good deal, complete 90 gallon saltwater setup for $350 (tree fiddy.) The seller is about 2 hours away from me.

My problem is trying to figure out all of the logistics for successfully transferring everything. The seller will pack everything up so no problem there. But I don't have an RO/DI unit at home, so I'm thinking of buying one today and filling up a couple of my empty 55's with the water and salt. Then when I get home I can set the tanks up and just pump the water out of the 55's into the 90.

Unless someone can think of something easier? I was also thinking of asking my LFS if they would hold on to at least the fish until I can get everything transferred. Kind of a general and stupid question, but I'm kind of a general and stupid guy :)

jwd jwd You're the only saltwater guy I know lol

Thanks in advance

I like your idea of making the water and adding it to your 2 55's. I think that would work fine.

I agree make up water and you don't necessarily need a r/o unless its a reef setup. The same applies as with Freshwater keep the bio media from drying out and you won't have to worry about totally cycling again.

It comes with a couple of corals, would it honestly be the end of the world if they were in tap water for a day or two, until the RO unit that it comes with produces some water, and I can do water changes to make up for it?

No keep nitrates at the lowest possible level though.

Awesome man, thank you. Like I said they'll only be in non-RO/DI water for a couple of days and from what I've read they're beginner corals, so they should be hardier I would think.
