hi i was wondering, since i am a begginer and all what cichlids should i get to start my second cichlid tank (i want a community cichlid tank) :feedback:

oscars jd rd cons etc

In a 75g, you could get a texas or salvini or jack dempsey, and then 5-10 african mbuna cichlids.

i might get a 55g or a 29g i was mainly thinking about getting dwarf cichlids but i dont know which ones to get

In a 29g you could have a bunch of dwarf cichlids...and which, I think, is up to your taste. Have a look at this website, they have a lot of pictures for each genus and it will give you a good idea. Also depends on your LFS and what they carry. Personally I can never get anything special ordered from them here cause they have to order lots of them at once, so if you're looking for one specific type they want to sell me 30 of them :)

In a 55g though, I would not waste the space with dwarfs, personally. I have a 55g and use it for a Jack Dempsey, couple young Oscars, and other fish and invertebrates. They get along very well, my Jack is probably my most quiet and non-aggressive fish. Oscars are pigs, they just keep eating and moving around, nice to have too.

Have fun with the new tank!
