JP hit it right imo. I would go with no less than 3 though. Never 2.
:iagree: If your looking for cheap food that will last 1/2 a year to a full year, then get a big bag of raw shrimp.

i'm no RBP expert, but i just recently purchased 5 baby RBPs for my 60 gallon. I'm down to 3 now, but they're much bigger. 2 months ago when they were babies... they absolutely loved plain old flakes and small freeze dried bloodworms. i started adding in some small pellets too. started feeding them 2-3 times a day, and slowly lowering that as long as they eat everything.

What happen to the other 2? How long was it after you bought them that you lost one?

i kept 2 rbp's together and one day i woke up and the weaker one was missing an entire left eye. he swam around like nothing happened.i realized that i forgot to feed them the night before. they are also very skittish and nervous. i never was able to connect with them like you can connect with chiclids. eventually i got tired of them and sold them back to the lfs for a store credit. they only gave me one credit for the one with 2 eyes.

i kept my 2 rbp's in a 55 gallon. with 2 HOB filters. i fed feeder golds on occasion, but stuck to pellets for hygiene issues.

For curiosity's sake, how big of a tank were you keeping them in?

I saw these really nice silver piranha's in a shop too, i'm thinking of maybe getting them instead but i don't know what they are yet. :(

Just to say that i found out these are Silver Dollars.

I also found out that my tank is somewhere around 60ltr+
(Getting a bigger one soon(around 200ltr i think is in my budget.))

Would i be able to get Silver Dollars, then add some Red-bellies in later? Or would the silver dollars kill them etc then or vice versa?

it going to be vice versa.. sliver dollar are very fast swimming like the mono sabre and argentine. but i have a feeling that the RB would kill them is what i think.
