I lost my oscar. I can't find out what happened. The ammonia and nitrites were undetectable and there was little to no nitrate. The other fish were 3 inch blood parrots. He had no damage to him physically. No other fish were affected. Do any of you have any idea of what could have caused this?

this happens often, for me, an Oscar needs a clean established tank with no other fish, in the tank size they can grow to adult in. if you are going to get a 75, then get the tank up, cycled and ready to go, he will grow into it in a hurry. and IMHO tank min for one Oscar and no other fish is a 75g, quality pellet should be main diet, skip live food, for a treat freeze dried krill soaked in boyds vitachem over night a great protean snack.

Oscar great fish, love em, but they are tall thick fish with a large bioload, and clumsy as that come. they are the puppy dogs of fish.

What type of test kit are you using? How are you changing your water? When was your last water change before the fish died? What type of filtration do you have on your set up. What were your Ammonia, trite, and trate numbers? Are you dechlorinating your fresh water?

I was using the API master test kit. The last water change was the day before at 35%. I used the fluval branded de clor. The filtration is a canister I don't know the brand and a hang on back to keep extra media in. And the tank has been up for a year.
