Just out of curiousity...how many of you pick out your fish at the pet store? I know I can be pretty picky when it come to fish. What about online shoppers? How do you know if it's "good enough" for you?

Dunno really with the online thing. I never thought of it. When I am at the petshop I watch my perspective buy for 10-20 minutes. Usually though my online purchases are on the rare side so I guess as long as it arrives alive I'm happy.

I always make sure I get the biggest one. :D As long as it looks as long as it looks healthy.

I always pick put my particular fish. I can spend a couple of hours looking over stock before making final decision.

drumroll.......................................................................................................................500TH POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I am a dorado :)

I suppose you either have to go by the picture they send you if any, and then you just have to trust the seller? I always prefer to see my fish in person first, thats always part of the fun for me. I guess it is another thing that can distinguish online sellers from one another?

I can be very picky in the fish store. Online it's a crap shoot.

At the pet store, I always study the fish in the tank. If I see any that appear diseased, I won't buy anything from that tank. I look for which fish has the best swimming motion, which is the most active. In preds, I look for the one that swims up to you and acts like he wants to fight or take a bite out of you. I pick the more curious fish. As far as stuff like schooling fish, I look out for any sign of ich, odd swimming behavior, etc. I also always try to get there just as they put the shipments into the store tanks, to get first pick. I pick the largest and healthiest fish, :)

I have never purchased fish online, cause I don't know how to get a paypal account, lol.
