  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
oh and by the way ODDBALLER u dont have to wait till u are 40 to get the man bra i  could qualify for a c cup right now:grinno: at 28 but i can still kick ass and out bench anybody at the lfs :SaiyanSmi so thats what counts:headbang2 .

Dont like benching all that much. I rarely work with more than 120 lbs on a flat bench. I prefer declines, inclines and military press on machines with any where between 140 and 180 depending on the order I use the machines in.
My best workouts are with 12 oz curls. I can do sets of 8 to 15 but usualy find I put them away in two or three if I'm thirsty.

sorry del but benching and maxing out is the most useless form of weight lifting...... no practical purpose...... unless you want to wear a bra when you turn 40.......

Not necessarily. Maxing helps increases strength if done right. Big Train used to be a power lifter and can tell you the same. The higher the weight with small amounts of reps will stengthen your body, but at the same time, you can run a risk of damaging your body as well. Just have to know what's a good heavy weight for you. When I first started working out I used to do the average of 3 sets, 10 reps. After I got used to it, I decided to build more strength and and was doing heavier weight with 2-3 set, 4-6 reps. It really works too...it sucks...but it really works.

To be honest Del I have no idea, I've never done weights in my life.

I do know one thing though, I could punch about 10x harder than you :D

5 years ago: 250

Now: 25.0

Bouts 300... haven't maxed out in a while though.

Ok here's the deal...... it really depends upon what your lifting to acomplish.....
do you want health? Size? or to just look good?

There's really no need to "MAX" unless you want to be a power lifter... and that is usually only used as a "benchmark" of progress.... pun intended.... instead if you want to increse strength use a close to max weight so you can push atleast 6-8 reps...

in a Nut Shell....
there's basically two types of muscles.... Type A (fast twitch) muscles... found in powerlifters and usually "higher weight" people..... these muscles are also called "white muscles" full of nerves, water and fat.....which can deliver "EXPLOSIVE" force.....

Type B (slow twitch) muscles are ones you usually see on body builders and high endurance athletes...... Also called "Red" muscles... they have less fat, less water, less nerves... but more blood vessels which deliver more oxygen for them to function for longer period of time........

yea i do know what i'm talkin about.... my bro's a body builder..... who's twice the size of me...... oh and i can still beat his ass.....:headbang2
