Is there ammonia in your water? Is something scaring him?

I had my Vieja spook my Oscar so badly that he tried to jump out of the tank in the middle of the night. I got nightlights and was observing the fish when it happened.
My lids are all sealed tight , but my Red bashed the lid so hard he knocked himself out!
Mind you my water qaulity is pristine and my tank is big enough, but i still had to rehome the Vieja.
On the other hand a knocked out fish may be a better option then a dried up fish...

sorry for not replying but we are new to using forums,and i'm not at my cumputer all day long.My Oscar is in one of my 3 tanks,and the tank he is in is 600 litres, my amonia levels are good as i do a 20% water change every week,and filter clean every month, and my dogs do not peer through the glass as the tanks are in the cellar and my dogs won't tackle the cellar stairs.
