Hello,

We just purchased a Sevylor Fish master 325 and want to put a sevylor trolling motor on. We are looking at the ones that dont require a motor mount, and put out 7/13lbs thrust (lo/hi). Ive read a little about Optima deep cycle batteries, but not sure which would be the best for my application. We are looking for something to give us 2-3 hours of use.

Thanks a lot!

dont buy pep-boys marine batteries!!! uuuughhhhhhh!!! i can still feel the pains from pAddeli'n..

LOL. Alright well thanks for the advice.

I bought the cheapo deep cycle at Pov-mart, it is good for a couple hours at least on my 14 ft aluminum boat.

FWIW I've had great luck with optima batteries. Since it's a spiral gel cell it's more durable because the plates are less likely to warp from constant re-charging.

Get a BPS battery. You are not going to need much as you trolling motor is small.

Well this might sound stupid, but we also want to power a fish finder. Would a BPS battery still work?
