Optimas are WAY overpriced! Interstate deep cylce batteries are very good with a nationwide warranty. I've had interstate batteries last almost 8 years! Another good deep cylce battery company is Trojan if they have them in your neck of the woods. The whole key to making any battery last is to make sure it is never allowed to sit completely dead, keep the water (distilled only!) up in the cells (NEVER allow the water to get below the top of the plates!), and don't let it freeze! (A completely charged battery is less likely to freeze). A fully charged group 27 battery should easily last you 2-3 hours. (12.7 volts is fully charged). Good luck and good fishing!
