Best affordable lighting for a 6 foot tank?? any help?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have two 36'' ones. Def go with the 72''. I have to stagger mine. Or keep them right next to each other and one leg is always falling off one side ha. Its annoying :)

If I go with two 24" ones instead of a 60" for my 5ft tank would there be a blind spot of light in the middle where they meet or do you think it would cover the majority of my tank ? Anyone ? Its 2ft deep
I'm thinking the evo series as I would like to try a few plants to keep nitrates down in my tank that is if they don't get shredded to bits , I'm presuming the double bright fixtures don't grow plants only light the tank ?
Any help is appreciated as I don't want to rush into buying them

What is the "color" of the light emitted? 6500 K will grow plants. 10,000 K not so good. See if you can find data from mfr. on PAR values for that light at various depths.

Usually you will find LED power from them and spectrum there is a good post in the planted section on calculating PAR.
