Hey everyone got a lot of green algae on my front glass and its a bother to clean.

I have a 225 gallon tank with some cichlids all around the 3" mark. I don't currently have any catfish or loaches of any kind so I'm open to offers

what could work?

Also my LFS have some chinese high fin shark, do they eat algae well or do they just look cool?

I have a farlowalla that nothing even notices in my tank, very good algae eater.

Edit: The hi fin shark needs temperate water temperatures, not tropical.

OH twig tails! yeah I had one of those years ago unfortunatly he didn't do much of a job in cleaning gbut that might have been just him....
either way I havent seen them for sale anywhere near me. I remember hearing that kissing gourami's are good algae eaters but tbh would be nice to have some catfish in the tank.

Flagtails (Semaprochilodus insignis) are AWESOME algae eaters especially from the glass. Much better than any type of pleco IME.

I think you should take some steps to eliminate the algae before you throw fish in there to eat it. Try reducing your lighting period and checking your water parameters including phosphate levels.

chinese algae eater...they stay on that algae eating grind, they always seem to be hungry. + they're fast enough and aggressive enough to hold their own around cichlids.
