Best algae eater

I have had a brown algae infestation in my tank. And I am thinking of getting an algae eater. But what algae eater could survive in a tank with a male convict cichlid and 30 fry?

Rubberlip Plecos are cool & easy to get. Also a true algae eater, unlike many others...

Flagfish do really well too, idk if he would survive tho. Then theres otto's and snails.

get a bunch of ramshorns. but if you say you are having brown algae, it sounds like a diatom bloom. increase WC and try to reduce nitrates/phosphates. all these things combined should help

get an asian algae eater, i have one in a 55 of african cichlids, and he does great for himself... ive even seen him take my kenyi in his suction cup and thrash him about in some of their fights

That is bad for your kenyi.... Really bad. Thought id let you know. My chinese algae eaters kept getting eaten by my bichirs or found beaten to death within two days of introduction after quarantine it was really disappointing. Turns out they were molesting the bichirs for their slime coat. Lesson learned just do more water changes and get a mag float

I don't advocate use of fish to clean algae for you. In my opinion, I'd use the algae scraper or toothbrush.
