Best algae eating pleco...

Albino bristlenose. I have 1 in my 80 at 3 inches and he takes care of the algae. Doesn't bother anything and all my carnivourous plecos ignore him.

not just buy a fish.

Wow. It's a little presumptuous to call a person lazy because they want to add a pleco to their tank. It looks to me like they were planning on adding one anyway and are merely inquiring about what species would also provide an added benefit of algae grazing. I don't understand why people don't just try to help each other instead of being mean. :irked:

Now, to answer the question in my opinion a couple bristle nose plecos would do nicely. You could also use some otoscinclus (5 or so).

Clown pleco's are cool looking, stay small, and are awesome at cleaning algae. The only downfall is they are VERY shy. You practically never see them.
