whats the best algae remover i know vinegar is good for calcium but is it also good for algae?

I wouldn't recommend using any sort of algae remover liquid. If you have excess algae its usually because of a chemical imbalance in the tank. Do some research online and see where your problem might be coming from. The most common causes are usually excess nutrients or light in the tank and can be fixed by adjusting them.

Plain old Pleco. My Rhom tank has a huge algae problem cause he ate the previous common pleco. Then I added another common pleco and Bam 3 days later, sparkling tank.

I agree the chemistry is off... Adding a pleco just adds to the problem imho...

I have one in my 200G and i want to get rid of him... Adds more to the problem then help...

Anyway, check your phosphorous levels, in my tank that was what was causing my algae problem before...

well it is just the air-stones and my levels are fine i just have never cleaned them.

If you want yip clean the air stones, soak them in a strong bleach/water solution til the algae dissolves, then rinse them well and let them air dry, chlorine bleach will evaporate. just as long as there is no bleach smell to them when they are dry, if there is rinse them again before putting them back in the tank
