Whats the best background between blue and black and best substrate colour for CA/SA Cichlids?
I currently have texas,Jags, dovii, what background colour and Substrate colour do you recommend me use for good coloration for the fishes?

I like black if choosing between the two personally. Black make the fish pop. I use black in all my tanks that do not have a rock background. As for substrate, i'd go with neutral earth tones the way nature intended. Most of CA/SA Cichlids are found among Rocks, Rubble, Sand, and Mud. All shades of brown, tan, grey, and beige.

If you are going to go natural route, mix various grain sizes of gravel with sand. More natural IMO. Leslies sells pool filter sand for like 11 bucks for a 50lb bag. But a few of those and a few 10 lb bags of gravel in different sizes and mix.

I like blue background and pool filter sand. The PFS is not too small, not too large. Natural colors are best, as previously stated.
