Best background colour for jardini?

I am thinking about re painting the back of my tank and would like to know what would bring out the best coloration in my jar?

He is really camera shy lol this is the best I could get, that mark by his head is a scale missing where I knocked it off jumping at the lid.

When dealing with shy fish put your camera on a tripod in front of the tank when you aren't using it and it will make the fish get used to being around the camera.

I've tried white and all shades of blue , even grey , but black works best imo

Ok it's looking like black is the key then, just out of interest what colour substrate do you use with the black background?

Black substrate will make the biggest difference, and as long as you have a darker background, just pick one you like the most. my tank with old white sand and new black gravel
