Best background?

I have a 55 with one of those plant scene backgrounds...it's been taped on there for years. When that tank is photographed it makes things look really busy.

I like the 3D backgrounds if the tank is deep enough to really support it. Otherwise, I like a black background.

Moved to setup and filtration

another vote for black .....unless you can find 3d at a good price:popcorn:

Ive always done the fake plant background but as rich said, looks really busy. I have recently switched my tanks to black and really like it.

I go with Elmers FoamBoard which you can find at walmart. Its a hard thin styrofoam board that you can cut to shape pretty easily and is cheap, about 3-4 bucks for a big piece. 3 pieces covered my 6 foot tank, I just put in on the glass inbetween the top and bottom trim and tape it to the trim. Easier than painting and removable.
