The Canon Powershot series are very good. If you are worried about durability, get the Powershot D10 or one of the Olympus Stylus Tough series. Both are waterproof and shockproof. You can put the camera in your fishtank to take pictures, and get rid of distortion from the glass altogether!

D70s is really nice, durable, and a fair price, I would say try to buy one with as many accessories (*lenses, batteries, charger) as possible cause they add up quick.

I love my Canon SX120. I got it for $140 new. It is normally around $240, but it was labled for the wrong price, so I ended up getting it for $100 off!:naughty: The Canon SX 20 seems to be better than the SX 120 though, but it is like $150 more. I would recommend both if you are looking for a good point-and-shoot.

I use a Panasonic ZS3. In normal mode it can be a little slow (a few seconds between shots), but it has a burst mode which will take several shots in sequence. Also takes excellent video. I have recommended it to friends who have been very happy with it. Good luck!
