best barbels on a jar :D (pics)

Still a awesome lookin Jar even with the DE. Do Jar's become skittish as they get older or is it dependent on the fish. Right now my Jar's not afraid of anything cept my camera. Lights being turned on and off don't faze him and neither do water changes. My hands presence in the tank doesn't faze him. Only thing is when I get close with the cam he becomes a little darty. Skittering past the camera and then slowing down again. By the way how big's your Jar and do you have any tankmates with him. How's his aggression?

i got my jar when he was 4"or5" somewhere in november 2007
now he is like 13-14" i guess, the measurement is based on the tankmates present 2 19" RTCs and 2 18" TSNs and a 7" albino pleco
other than that no ones there in the tank, and any fish added has been victimized by the jar, once the cats move to the pond he will live alone in that tank till he is 18" or so then he goes to a bigger tank may be a 300 or so
my jar was skittish when he was small
then he got alright and now again he is skittish
but doesn't hunger strike like before
and is quite a pig
 
Cool your doin something right since that's one healthy lookin' Jar. I like them better than Silvers cause thay are thick like mo'fo's. Jar's just got that thickness goin on like no other Aro. At least I think so cause I've never seen a Asian in person. Even Lei's though my experience is limited are thinner in body. Though I think they(Lei's) have the best colors of the Aro's the U.S. has the ability to keep legaly.

Those are the biggest barbels I've ever seen on a jar!!!
 
and here i thought jars' de are not as bad as the silvers'.. after seeing that de, im actually scared for my jar.. lol

it wasn't as bad as it is now but he still likes to go at 100miles/h and bang the glass so it increased and now he has to tilt every time he wants to see something on his right :ROFL:
 
very nice barbels

in my opinion thats one thing i dont like about most jars is the floppy limp barbels
