best bichir for a noob

I just got my first, also a Senegal (although petsmart calls it a dragon bichir??). He is great, very active, I can hand-feed him and he's quirky. Likes to sleep on top of the spray bar for the canister filter. I'm very happy with him.
Yeah not much you can do in a 30g. What are the dimensions? I mean you could probably do a senegal in there...
A sen with the plans of upgrading to at least a 48" long home. I am upgradng to a 75, but that's because I have an affliction for Birchirs. 
I have 2 juvenile albino I think females, and a (I believe) mature male seng. He is awesome! He is 10" and growing, eats well and has actually eaten a small Bala shark (unconfirmed, but no 'body' found thus far...)
Females, not albinos will be smaller, and perhaps less aggressive towards other Birchirs. And petsmart is the place to get them... Small perhaps, but they grow fast! My oldest is about 6 months now, and a hair under 10", maybe 3" when I got him. I picked up 2 more little females (I am hoping) a week ago and I am growing them in a 10 gallon long with feeder guppies...The guppy population is getting smaller and smaller..haha..
