i've got a 35 gallon tank, and a common pleco (i can put it in the show pond at my big al's when it gets too big). the pleco doesn't hardly eat anything except for his algae wafers. anyways, i want to know what kind of pleco does the best job when it comes to cleaning the tank:) thanks in advance

well most plecos make more waste than they clean there poop machines. i wouldnt really know what one is best im sure someone on here will know i usualy just clean in my self

You should not rely on a fish to do the work for you. In a 35 only small species should be used. For green algae otocinclus are the best for your tank size.

None, they are fish not people. You have to clean the tank, no fish can do it for you.

Put a bristlenose pleco in there they only get to be about 6 inch max so it wont get too big for the tank. They are also about the best algea eaters out there along side the rubber lip pleco, but they like to have strong current so the bristlenose would be the easier of the two to care for.

Hmmm.
I have about 15 of them (bristlenoses). None of them are glass hangers. They stick to the driftwood and that's it...
:(

tlaking about scraping algea or cleaning up left over food/etc?

my common plec does a pretty good job of cleaning the glass. i actuallythrew away the magnet scraper and it been fine for years.

i want to know which pleco does best at cleaning up the tank too. hopefully you guys take it seriously so we can find out which pleco does clean up the best. Not becuase we don't want to clean the tank ourseves its just to find out which pleco does do best at cleaning.

As has been stated, few plecos will do a good job, and none should be fed only on algae. All plecos will output a ton of ammonia, causing a rise in algae, so you will be fighting a fire with gasoline.
