i keep a 50 lb bag of rock salt anyway.. it's great for scrubbing things (cleanser is poison, NOT allowed in my home), and it keeps drains clear of plant roots, and i use it in the aquariums too.

Not any water softner salt, some contain other chemicals. Just read the label. I buy morton canning salt in the 4 lb box. I think it is around $2 a box but I don't use a lot of salt.

NOT not water softener salt.. ROCK SALT or Kosher salt.. no iodine.

Water softner salt is fine just make sure has no iodine, buy mortons from home depot that is in the blue bag.

We get tonic salt in 25Kg, bags your LFS could order you one in for us they cost like £5, LOL.
