Best Canister Filter for a 20?

I have a 20 gallon axolotl tank and plan on getting a canister filter, what do you guys recommend? I was thinking the Polar Aurora 3 stage 265 gph canister filter

Believe I used aqueons on mine, mine were rated for 55 gallons but I put them in the 20 longs, the more gph the better

but the flow from it would be an issue because axolotls don't like much flow, if flow wasn't a problem I'd get an Fx6 but the amount of flow would stress axolotls out (563 gph)

Face it so the flow hits the glass, in other words set up the canister backwards

I'm not sure how well that would work, it might not fit (the shape of the output nozzle and stuff), but I can try I guess

Total overkill for a 20 Gallon. Get an AC110 and call it a day. Easier to maintain and will still overfilter that tank.

I have axolotls, they are VERY VERY dirty fish, they poop A LOT and it fouls the water VERY fast

If they can't take flow then water changes is your best option. Keeping the poop in the canister is not a good option.

I have an old milk jug and I just siphon out the poop every other day or so

maybe think about tryin seachem pristine? im a month in on 1 tank here, and the stuff is working amazingly well. its eaten up most all detritus now and still goin. it has even cleaned all my filter pipes pretty much spotless and when I opened my filters up 2day for their monthly cleaning they were about half or less the usual gunk. I coulda went few mor weeks on them. not only that the water has been remarkably clear. like using purigen almost. I liking this stuff so far
