These would also be a good option but I’m unsure if I can turn the flow rate down or not??

I have those and can’t adjust the flow rate w/o adding a valve to the already tubing provided urself. Works fine so far. Cheap and gets the job done.

Never thought of that! I think that’s that sorted then! It also has a built Uv which is a bonus, have you had any problems with it al all??

not sure about the uv but I have one of the jbl cristal profi filters on another tank and that is a good filter not too expensive.

Not much so far. Just keep up the normal maintenance.

I had an oase biomaster very well built filter but after 6 months it would leak intermittently couldn't control the flow rate as it would leak . replaed it with an eheim professional 4 plus 250 on a 127 lt tank it is great and so quiet I had to look at the surface of the tank as I thought it wasn't on.

I came over to buddy's garage to help him install the new rack and diamondback tonneau on his truck. The oase biomaster filter on his tank got a leak after only 4 months but the flow rate is still good. We'll take a look at that Eheim pro.

You dont have to turn the flow down on the cannister you ends up with. I have solved the flow problem for my pulchra tank like this. I picked up a planter box or what its called in english and drilled a hole in the bottom and siliconed a bulkhead to it. Filled it lecapebbles planted some monstera in it and put a spraybar from my cannister on top spraying tankwater on the plants and they grow fast as hell.

I would buy the fluval one rated for twice your gallons...I have a bunch of the fluval fx6s and hands down love them ...clearly out preform my marineland aquaclear and cascade stuff... will only buy their stuff from now on ...big to small...you get what u pay for ...i also have a cascade500 30 gal canister on a 15 gal tank and water is always perfect with no problems just sub par flowrates

If the tank is just 25gals. I wouldnt bother with a canister. Get one of the smaller aquaclear h.o.bs . Infact i had an ac110 on a 30 gal. Do channa appreciate higher flow ?
The maintenance will be much easier
