Cardinals were floating the other day, rams are chillin in the front right corner (blurs, phone pic fail)

I have an AC30 sponge over the intake tube of my AC110, and it does a good job of spreading out the suction as well as kept the shrimp out of the filter (that the rams tore up).

Heater is massive but I don't mind it.

Sorry been busy with the move, fish are all doing great 2 days in.

I have an aquatic life 30" T5 HO light, on a standard 29g.

I was at my LFS the other day, and actually think I'm going to go with pygmy chain sword. One more thing that needs to be considered is that my tank is 83-84*F for the rams.

Thanks for all the help, I'm going to look into taller plants once I get a carpet established. I'm also going to be dosing with Flourish/Flourish excel. Dont mind the random plants in there, $3/The pleco that was temporarily in the tank for a few days had a nice meal...

My stock is 2 blue rams, 7 cardinal tetras, and an oto. Don't plan on adding anything but plants, at least for a while.

The plants in there are some random ones that the petco dude gave me for $3 each (2 middle ones came as 1). No idea what they are, but they're relatively temporary while I wait for chain sword and probably some anubias or something.

Yea they aren't aquatic... I bought the same thing when I started a planted tank. I wondered what that horrible smell was in my tank, and someone told me that one of the plants I had in my tank wasnt aquatic. So I pulled it out and OMG the roots smelled HORRIBLE ugh, so gross. Mondo grass is better kept as a lawn orniment, not in your tank LOL

Just an update, I just ordered 4x Narrow Leaf Chain Sword, and 2x Micro Sword on LiveAquaria. I would have loved to support my LFS, but I'd have to drive 30 mins from where I am with $8 in tolls to pay the same and not get any Micro Sword so... haha

I'm probably going to start a new thread documenting my plant growth etc. yada yada.
