I think "a little crowded" is an understatement. I realize your mentality--you truly like all of these fish and want to own and care for every one of them. I assure you though, EVERY SINGLE PERSON on this site has a wish list of fish that they want or plan to get in the future but simply have no room for them at the time being. Sure, they could cram them all into a tighter tank than is suitable, but they practice restraint and prioritize the well-being of the fish over their selfish desires.

My suggestion to you is to pick the 8-10 fish you like best in your 180 and begin the thinning of your stock now (and make no mistake, you will have to do this a couple of other times). It's in the best interest of the fish.

i know my tanks are over stocked right now but its only been recently when i accidentally ordered more fish than i could sell , then i grew attached to them and couldnt sell them, but instead keep them , but i am going to lessen my stock soon

Bump for this thread!!!:)
Im in the beginning stages of starting an aggressive SA/CA community tank... Right now I have

1x Red Devil 3"
1x EBJD 2"
1x Red Oscar 4"
1x Green Terror 3"
The Red Devil is seperated from the others right now since him and the oscar wont stop untill one is dead, but I plan on putting these 4 into a 150g within the next month or two.. The only fish that I can think of that I would like to add is a Flower Horn...

get a 180 g i feel that anything under 180 is to small for these types of large cichlids

But yet you have some of those exact cichlids in 40's and 30's?

Look man, I have 30+ tanks running, and I still do not have room for every fish that I want.

The only way I will ever have all the ones I want is if I turn my 1500 into a cichlid tank. Annd, that's not happening for another yr or so, but even then there will be issues because of the way the fish are.

Pick a few, and do what's best for the fish.

You can't always get what you want unfortunately.

Im really enjoying my Geo/MircoGeo community atm.

55g
5 Orange head Tapajos
5 Bolivian Rams
7 Goyder River Rainbows
3 Pep BN
Plus a few random pencil fish and a male Apsitogramma Benchi Inka 50 i chucked in from a breeder tank.

Very chill, don't have to worry about the aggression at all.

do u read , becaus ei said that the 30 g is a grow out i had the fish in there when they were spawned i raised them, and i am waiting for them to be at least 2.5 inches until they go in the 180 g, but right now they are only 1-2 inches big, please read my post , and i f u didnt read that i am getting a 96x24x30 tank for my fish , and that i moved th jags from the 180 when i bough t it because i bought the 180 for 2 jags and 2 oscars but the jags wanted the tank to them selves and killed the oscars so i put the jags in a 40 b, temporarily an di am currently in the market for a 48x18x24 tank for them , plz read my post , but i would never put a full grown large 12 inch cichlid in a 150 since width is more important then anything

also mshill90 i read your threads and it seems you have fish die on you i have never had a fish die or kill each other, except for my jags but that was after they breed, also my african arow died because it was skinny from the lfs
