best cichlid

Salvini's are bad asses. Mine is like 3 inches and fights my 5 inch oscar and 6 inch FH all the time. So much attitude and personality.
 
Yes a FH is a cichlid lol.
 
Right now my prize possessions are my 7 Festaes.

Overall in the 3 years of hobby, my fav has to be Parachromis Dovii. I just couldn't keep it anymore...it tore up every cichlid I added to it.
 
My list has completely morphed over the past few months. My new favorites include:

Flowerhown
Midas
RTM

As stated earlier though, you really can't go wrong with any Amphilophus or Parachromis.

I haven't seen any of my favorites listed... :confused:

My favorite (if I have to pick only one) is Gymnogeophagus balzanii. I love my Humpheads!

My wife's favorite (I was really stoked to hear she has one!) is Astatheros robertsonii. The blue spangles and dark base color make them one of the most beautiful cichlids out there.

A few more that I really like:

Geophagus steindachneri
Geophagus abalios
