Otos and true SAE'e are hands down the best algae-eaters to be had for appropriate tanks/tankmates.
Nothing beats a shoal of Otos in a planted tank.
Certain species of Pleco do well in general but still need to be supplemented with their own diet, the bushynosed/medusa species seem to do better than most at maintaining algae IMO/IME.
