Where do you all buy your 3M ColorQuartz ? I can't locate any.

Also how do you paint the back of your tanks? Just use spraypaint?
start here and select "I need a....distributor" and "the project is in this state...Washington". Looks like there's one in Seattle and one in Mukilteo.

I have a black background from Petsmart on my 210 (came w/ it) and just spray-painted the back of one of my 55's. the 20 I spray-painted a piece of cardboard black.

Yeah I noticed that and was going to ask but first, I did a search on the 3m and found the site and the dealer. Thanks! :D
great. no problem.

I just got back from my nearest distributor and picked up a bag of black t-grade, so I'll let you all know how that goes.

As I said, I got some black t-grade 3M colorquartz today. I washed it after work and it was really dusty, unlike the red s-grade I put in my 210. It is a little coarse, but the ceramic coating takes away from most of that. I only managed to get it in my 55 growout for my jar, "goby" and lancer, so I can't comment on what it does to the color of my polys, but needless to say, with the black substrate and black background, I can barely see my black lancer cat. I like the t-grade in that it is heavier than the s-grade, but the s-grade looks a little nicer, IMO. I have included some pics.

I swapped out the 55g for a 40 breeder and got the black t-grade in there and a black background on. The polys look much nicer than with the bare-bottom I had in my 55. Here are some bad after pix... (i threw one in of my roseline since it was a decent pic and didn't try to take it). You can see the spinal deformity in the del and it's terrible pattern.
