Get something on sale and buy one of those replacement warranties. Make sure it "breaks" before the warranty expires. Depending on the type of warranty, you can either get cash to get another one or get a replacement. I prefer the ones that give you money b/c the replacements tend to be refurbished. Good luck.

Thanks aldiaz33! Never heard of those, i might just have to test it for u as there around the right price. You are also right ive probably already paid out the wazoo for operation cost and 4 units.

Thanks dogofwar...this would be a perfect solution if I had 1k to spare lol...

id be jumping all over it, down here seems air exchangers are like alien space ships, I got quoted 7.5K for a 500sqft HRV capable model >_<! so 1k sounds great haha.

HRV is the way to go imo, have read many great stories from Europe based builders etc, best part is you dont lose much heat if your heating the room!
