Best depth for Bichir tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They should be quite happy with around 2-4' of depth

I would go 2'/23"

but as tokyo said, 16" should be ok. They don't really care about depth anyway.

PS, ignore the 4', i dun even know why i typed that...

yeah i'd probably go in the 16-20" range as well, what bichirs do you plan to keep in it?

I know u are more of an expert at poly's then me but I think this is to shallow for poly's. Have u ever seen a poly jump out off a tank? I have seen a 16inch poly boost himself off of the floor of a 240 gallon tank straight out and into a drainage sink. Maybe a once in a million poly this would happen but I always have this in the back of my mind everytime i see my ornate make a comotion in my tank and he is going on 12inch. I see my ornate do the same tail boosting off of the side of the tank when he is pissed at my flowerhorn

i keep my 4 inch polys in a tank with a depth of about 15 inches.
