Best depth for Bichir tank?

yeah i'd probably go in the 16-20" range as well, what bichirs do you plan to keep in it?

Have u ever seen a poly jump out off a tank? I have seen a 16inch poly boost himself off of the floor of a 240 gallon tank straight out and into a drainage sink. Maybe a once in a million poly this would happen but I always have this in the back of my mind everytime i see my ornate make a comotion in my tank and he is going on 12inch.

Oh yes they jump. The 16" I refer to is just water depth. I decided on interior depth of 18". I will range the water from 12-16" for conditioning, Above the top of the indoor pool walls I will have a 2 foot splash/jump guard.
