Best DSLR for the money?

I want a dslr, pretty much been looking at used ones. I was originaly going to get a d40, but for the xtra money wouldn't it just be better to get a d60?

Any other good cameras out there that are on the cheaper side of dslrs but still great cameras?

Ok,Canon EOS is the best.

Canon EOS, i would recommend 450D, or 1000D. But 400D is better if you would pay a little more.
