Please let me know. I have a ViaAqua 750 canister filter for one 60-gallon tank. It works great and is really quiet. Can anyone suggest other brands that are as good or better? Eheim "PRO" seems to be the "ultimate" filter, but also very expensive. Any suggestions or comments on best way to go?

Most will say Eheim is the best canister, an they are. however there also cost alot more than the other canisters out today. Magnums are also on par with Eheims.

canisters are a pain to clean and maintain. go with a wet dry! I used to canisters, and I went to wet dry filtration and I'll never go back again! Way easier to clean and maintain. And if you get an acrylic one, you can tell when it gets dirty. I however just use a 5 gal bucket with some modifications and it works great. AND CHEAP
