Best Filter for 55 gal???

What filter do you guys recommend for a 55 gal tank? I want something that I very quite.

Aqua Clear 110 works well.. I have a AC110 and AC 70 on my 55 gallon and it's nice and clear.

ehiem 2080 canister filter or ehiem 2026 canister 2080 might be over kill but it would work nice . i have both of these filter on diferent tanks i own 5 canisters and i never hear them . so quite .

if you want a hang on filter stay away from empieor 400 peice of sh** i had one for a week and took it off, so loud it was scary . freind of mine has a large hang on filter with 2 bio wheels and it is quite . called a whisper not sure of what it is all i know is it is made by whisper

That's weird, I have 2 Emperor 400s on my 55gal and the tank is virtually my headboard to my bed and I have no problems sleeping.

AC110's is what I use on my 55's.

i would go with the ac

on my 60 gal i ran an ac110 and penguin 350. ac was better w/ mechanical filtration and the bio wheels on the penguin are great for bio filtration. i now have an xp3 running on the tank as well. some may think its overkill but it keeps the water super clean and my fish healthy.

I would say, undergravel filter with power heads on all the undergravel plates..If your tank measures 48 x 13, that is how big your filter is going to be...And that is big..

I also have two Emp 400's on my 55 and haven't had any problems.
