Best filter material for AC70?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Awesome. Yes it seems like they're a simple effective and customizable filter. That's why I love them. So easy to clean too.

I just bought another bag of "bio max". When I get home I'll toss the carbon and put that in with the existing bag and sponge.

Does the poly fill remove small particles? Better than the sponge? I'm going to try and grab some today.

I still have a bit of "dust" in the tank from the pool filter sand, I think that's stopping me from having super clear water right now. That and te algae bloom I just had...but hoping my massive water changes will take care of that.

Yes the poly fill will pickup small particles, and dust from sand change poly fill regularly.

The sponge will grab the larger debris, while the PolyFil will grab at the much smaller ones.

Th ePolyFil should help with the pfs dust as well, but its the w/c that will make the biggest impact

I put matten filter in all of my HOBs.

You might check with Swiss Tropicals. He may be willing to ship you some.

grabbed some polyfill from walmart....worked really nicely, cleared the tank up significantly overnight.

I have a lot for only $8.

How often should I replace?

When you notice the flow on the intake chamber overflowing, its time to replace the Polyfil
