Just looking for the best quality.
I do frequent water changes and dont have a problem with water quality. Just curious what's recommended.

120 gal excuse me. 48x24x25
And no it's not
I'm not familiar on this drilling thing either I'm new to the hobby still first year.

Gotcha. I like the 4x2 120s. Pretty versatile tank for stocking.

If you want to go simple and effective, i would consider hooking two AC110s on the back and you're done. Versatile, powerful, reliable filtration for around $150 for 2 of them.

If youre looking to tackle a project (and properly equipped) and really want the most out of your system, consider drilling and plumbing the tank for a sump. There are many ways to go with sumps so i suggest doing some general research on various sump setups and going from there.

One sure thing is that you will have to make sure your tank is constructed from non-tempered glass before you drill it. If it is tempered it cannot be drilled and a sump is not even a viable option.

Your awesome thank you for the time and information! I definitely want to look into the sump idea as I do want nothing but the best that I can get for my fishies. I'm not sure what's on it right now. What I do know is the filter replacements I buy are penguin 250-300's? I think they are marineland bio wheel filters. Not sure the effectiveness

I always suggest the fluval/aquaclear 110 (also known as aquaclear 500). Its the only hang on back filter worth buying if you have a large tank imo and i know a lot of the keepers here would agree.

The marineland penguins are ok but they are nowhere near the ac110 in terms of flow, media capacity, and overall quality. At any rate the smaller penguins like the 250-300 are not useful for your tank imo.

Awesome. If you do get them be aware that you don't have to buy replacement cartridges for the ac110, but instead just rinse the media in tank water when it becomes gunky then put it back in.

Try not to let sand or small gravel get into it which is the achilles heel of the aquaclear motor.

So the AC110's come with a bag of bio-rings and a bag of carbon. I would just keep the carbon and not use it till you need to clear a medical treatment from the tank. Instead by a second bag of the bio-rings. And run the filters with two bags each and the supplied sponge.
When cleaning just rinse the bio-rings in a bucket of tank water along with the sponge. Don't rinse these things in faucet water due to the chlorine will kill your beneficial bacteria.

Cant wait to set these guys up, watched a short video on them and they are nothing like what I have now, almost makes what I'm doing now seem so very wrong.
