Hello fellow Colorado MFKer, you say well stocked, but what type fish and setup? If it is gonna be bare bottom with a dozen discus in it I would say Wet/Dry lots of biofiltration, little mechanical filtration. If ya going with a planted tank, then go canister to help keep the Co2 in the tank. With more specific info the better directed recommendations.

I'm here in Thornton north of Denver, What part of the state ya in?
 
wow militantpotato thats good info i'll try to remember it when im at hobby town but for the tank i was thinking sand and drift wood and have cichlids in it
 
Since no one else is saying it, I will...Fluidized bed filter. Once it's established, it reacts quickly to changing bio-load (stock level/left over food). Takes up little space, and is cool to look at, kinda like a lavalamp:)
 
never herd of a fluidized bed filter but planing on haveing a jack dempsy firemouths and a poly
