Best filtration for a 40G long?

aqua clear 70 worked great on my old 55 it had two and there was not a whole lot of adgitation but i added a bubble wand and it was fine

I would just get an aquaclear, the aqueon filters dont seem to make alot of surface current, my sister owns the big one. Not sure how good a job besides that though.

canisters don't really have to be under your tank, just maybe not as effective as it could be underneath. i got a fx5 lower than but next to my 20g long right now, to help establish biomedia, and it works fine.
