best filtration for overstocked tank

A sump implies a wet/dry filter and lots of bio media with some good mechanical fiiltration in front of it.

is to (if you don't have already) get a divider in the sump and add a lot of Hardy plants (I use Anubia with a bare bottom tank/s so light goes threw to the sump (atleast one reason for bare bottom)), because plants actually eat like the piss and junk from the plants, making plants kind of like a filter

Possibilities for the "best" filtration is endless. But your limitations will be your space and how presentable it will look like in your setup. On an average tank setup , a sump can be easily hidden and you will have a bigger space for filter media, then you can add a stockable overhead filter(harder to hide) Then you can add as much canister filters as you want, then you can have a refugium tank beside it..........and so on......

i see you're getting alot of schooling fish but you can only get 2 even if they're schoolers.
besides if you get all those fish that big and in a 300gallon, they wouldn't have too much space to swim.
