i never heard that u need a 300 gallon sump for a 300 gallon fish tank

You don't, sump size should be about 20 to 25% of the tank size. A 300 gallon sump would probably be impractical and have to be placed is another room. Would be nice for added water volume though.

I honestly would not recommend getting the fx5, I've read some bad reviews on them about not being able to last more than 3 years. They also are unable to filter out smaller particles because of the sponges and clog fast if you try to use a fine filter pad. Try an xp4 or eheim 2260 but the eheim might be out of your budget.
deffinatly go with the ehiem my 85 gallon is pretty stocked and i only have a ehiem pro 2 and i dont have any problems but i also have a ionizer and a uv steralizer

would a 150 gal sump and a ehiem filter be good enough for a 400-440 gallon tank with two aros three mono pbass and a rtc i might replace rtc with tiger shovelnose cat tho and i will also have a ionizer and a uv steralizer

A 150 sump is more than enough for a 400-440g tank (assuming it's set up correctly). With 2 pumps for return there is no need whatsoever for the secondary filter.

2 of those huge fx5 fluvals, 2 110 aqua clears on the back wet/dry is gonna turd on you with those fish, or you could just to a sump

You don't. Monster Fish Keepers suffer of overkillitis. Happily I might add.:ROFL::ROFL:

:iagree:

I have a FX5 and it works really good. Have it for 1 1/2 year everything works like new..... It can self start so you do not need to pump water or fill up your canister. Also the chip inside will find the best speed for the tank.
