The Land where Fish Rule!
What do you guys think would be a good fish to try and breed in my 220 to make some money. I am not looking to become a millionaire, just maybe sell some of the offspring at auctions or something to basically make the tank pay for itself. That is all I am trying to do, just eventually break even on the tank, filters, livestock, ect. I am thinking either discus or frontosa, but I am concerned with discus all the ph, temp, and all the other monitoring that goes with discus. Before someone goes to off saying, "You should enjoy your fish, not try to make money off them." I would enjoy both these fish a lot and would get a lot out of both of them, but I am just trying to recoup some of my losses. What do you guys think?

stingray in general.

get a wild pair of uncommon CA/SA cichlids and sell thier f1 fry.

Get Ray777 pair of Pacman cats and breed those!!

You'll have to do a little market research in "The Land where fish Rule!" and find out what's in demand. It will vary from town to town, so there's no one answer. You could breed the rarest, most expensive creature in the world but if nobody buys it, you lose. Or you might do well selling convict fry as feeders to local fishkeepers. Research.

Making any money or just breaking even from breeding in a single tank will be hard.

If you could breed some rare Pbass or Rays it may eventually but you're talking years before you even start to break even.

Common goof, I'll bet. The two words are so close!

Breeding Discus is usually a good idea, though. It usually at least lets you break even. As long as people buy them. :)
